What is Architecture? By definition it extends well beyond the tectonic need for shelter. An expressive technique that elicits an emotional response from those who confront or inhabit it, Architecture is a universal language of understandable spatial and surface forms. It is also a skillset used to promote positive behavior, proper use of resources, and address needs. The guiding principles are fundamentally the same as in all of the other fine arts, hence, its respect for craft. Nevertheless, Architecture remains committed to a client and a program. It carries responsibilities. As such, the practice of Architecture extends beyond its apparent aesthetic goals and rests on the relationship between the architect, the client and the public.
